Yesterday we reported that the Intel Core i9-9900K benchmarks recently appeared on Geekbench4. Today benchmark results for the Intel Core i5 9600K were listed. The results were submitted from a Windows 10 machine equipped with 16GB of DDR4 memory. The new Core i5 CPU and memory was housed in a Z370 AORUS ULTRA GAMING 2.0 motherboard.
The new Intel Coffee Lake 9000-series are due to arrive later this year and will be released with the new Intel Z390 chipset motherboards.

Performance over the Intel Core i5 8600K appears pretty marginal which is likely due to the slightly higher clock speeds found in the i5 9600k (3.7GHz vs 3.6HGz). As far as overclocking goes, I would expect that the 9600K would overclock just as well as the 8600k. However, the one advantage the 9600K cpu might have is that according to recent reports the 9000-series CPUs will have soldered lids which will help with thermal conductivity.
