Cooler Master has been teasing us for a while now, with many previews of the QuickFire Pro keyboard. Now they’ve made an official announcement for the keyboard and its product page is up. This is a more flashy product than the QuickFire Rapid, but has many interesting features.
Details
The QuickFire Pro is a full 104-key ANSI keyboard, although Europe does in fact get an ISO version. Like the QuickFire Rapid, the Pro variant has a detachable braided cable. However, the QuickFire Pro does not include a PS/2 adapter. It isn’t needed, since Cooler Master claims to have NKRO in USB mode! This is a new feature – normally USB keyboards are limited to 6KRO, meaning you can only have six simultaneous key presses at once. Corsair released USB keyboards with 20KRO, but manufacturers have been trying to get NKRO in USB for a while now. NKRO means you can have an unlimited amount of simultaneous key presses, and they’re all registered. Cooler Master claims NKRO in USB mode, and the QuickFire Pro even has the ability to switch to 6KRO mode.
This keyboard will be available with Cherry MX Red, Black, Blue, and Brown key switches. Other specs are as follows.

- 1000Hz/1ms response time
- Windows key disabled in game mode
- Partial Red LED backlight
- Removable braided USB cable with cable routing
It has noticeable ridges around the board for design purposes, and also features several CM Storm logos. The font is the same as the QuickFire Rapid.
Here is the numberpad area. Notice how you can switch the response times with the second function top row of the numberpad.
The second function F1 to F4 keys allow you to adjust the backlight color and mode. F5 to F12 double as media keys, except F12 which is the Windows lock key just like we’ve seen on the QuickFire Rapid. If you enable this, then the Windows keys are disabled so they won’t take you out of a game if accidentally pressed.

It isn’t known when exactly the QuickFire Pro will be available, but it does have an MSRP of $99 which is impressive for a mechanical keyboard of this caliber.
