Benchmark results for Intel’s soon-to-be released 9000-series high end CPU, the Core i9 9900K just appeared on Geekbench4 yesterday. The results were submitted from a Windows 10 machine. Time will tell how it compares versus Linux as it’s been proven that Linux is currently smoking Windows when it comes to high core counts in the benchmark category.
The 9000-series from Intel is part of the Coffee Lake S refresh expecting to happen later this year.
Here are the detailed results based on the original submission on Geekbench4:

Overall, pretty good performance. We’re looking at around 25% higher multi-threaded and 30% higher single threaded scores than a stock, non-overclocked 2700x. At this point it’s starting to make more and more sense why the Intel Core i9 is becoming the new mainstream replacement for the Core i7.
