Designed for subtle stealthy operation, the new Razer BlackWidow Lite mechanical keyboard has just been released. Taking a different approach to the current trend of high end gaming keyboards, the BlackWidow Lite has no RGB functions. The keys are indeed backlit, albeit by a single white LED located behind each key cover.
The keyboard is designed for users who mix work with gaming. While RGB lighting can be fun and eye-catching, it can get in the way of work. According to Razer:
On average, you’re bound to spend 1/3 of your life working. It’s time to reconsider the tools you use every day—meet the Razer BlackWidow Lite. It melds the fast responsiveness for gaming with toned down features to be subtle for the office. High performance keys meets o-ring sound dampeners, and true white LED backlighting, keeping you focused and productive as you type away even into the late hours.
The new mechanical keyboard uses Razer’s Orange switches which provide a tactle response midway between each keypress. As this keyboard is trying very hard to be stealthy, the switches used are designed to be silent unlike many other mechanical keyboards we’ve reviewed in the past. Each key is rated at over 80-million keystrokes ensuring that ensuring that the keyboard will stand up to years and years of gaming abuse.
