MSI has just shattered the world record for a DDR4 overclock using its MSI MPG Z390I Gaming Edge AC motherboard. The overclock was performed by MSI’s in-house overclocker, Toppic who verified his results by submitting them as a CPU-Z validation.
The memory used was a single 8GB stick of DDR4-2400 (KHX4266C19D4/8GX). At this point it’s difficult to say which is more impressive, the motherboard or the RAM used. Even though this overclock was performed on an MSI board props to Kingston as well.
All we know about the cooling solution was that Liquid Nitrogen was involved. It’s a shame MSI didn’t publish any pictures of the setup. Here’s a list of the parts and specs used:
