Samsung Launches New 860 QVO SSD Priced to Sell

Samsung QVO 860 SSD

Samsung has just announced the release of three new solid state drives to their 860 QVO SSD lineup. The new drives will come in 1TB, 2TB and 4TB sizes and will be priced starting at $150 USD for the 1TB model.

The new Samsung SSDs will feature a high density 4-bit multi-level cell (MLC) NAND flash architecture which helps bring pricing down to a much more affordable level for large capacity solid state drives.

“Today’s consumers are using, producing and storing more high-resolution files than ever, including 4K videos and graphics-intensive games, escalating demand for greater capacities and performance in storage devices,” said Dr. Mike Mang, vice president of Brand Product Marketing, Memory Business at Samsung Electronics. “Samsung continues to lead the move toward multi-terabyte SSDs with the introduction of the Samsung 860 QVO, delivering fast performance, reliability and value to more consumers around the world.”

The new Samsung 860 QVO SSD units will deliver read speeds up to 550MB/sec and maximum write speeds up to 520MB/sec. Logic is provided by Samsung’s new MJX controller which features TurboWrite technology which helps boost speeds during long read and write sessions.

Samsung’s 860 AVO will be available December of 2018 and will carry a limited 3-year warranty. MSRP for the units will start at $149.99 for the 1TB model with scaling pricing from the 2TB and 4TB solid state drives.
