Today QNAP Systems, Inc announced the launch of the Mustang-200 computing accelerator card which features a dual-processor configuration and a 10Gbps network connection. The dual slot PCIe card will be available in three tiers featuring the Intel Core i7, Core i5 and Celeron processors. In a nutshell what this card does is simply add compute power to the existing system.
The Mustang-200 is an affordable and scalable advanced computing accelerator for speeding up computations, calculations and applications. Equipped with 2 Intel® Core™ i5/i7 processors, 32GB (4 x 8GB) RAM, and 1TB (2 x 512GB) Intel NVMe SSDs, this PCIe card can be used with your existing system, enabling high-performance computing without costing a fortune. You can install multiple Mustang-200 to further boost your computing capabilities, and assign tasks to any of these units as needed.
The Mustang-200 computing card is backed by mQTS operating system which features a verity of built in applications made specifically for computational tasks. Additionally, the Mustang Card Manager assists in centrally managing all of the Mustang-200 (subsystems) installed in the host NAS. Users can monitor system status, configure network and storage resources, and connect to mQTS directly through the Mustang Card Manager for more detailed system configuration and application deployment.
