ASUS has just announced the release of its ultra high end 27-inch monitor, the ASUS ProART PA27UCX which is geared towards creative professionals and designers. The display comes equipped with a 4K UHD (3840 x 2160 pixels) panel for ultra high pixel density. Probably one of the more notable features is the use of a MicroLED technology.
MicroLED panels make use of tiny individual microscopic LEDs which make up the individual pixel element. In short, they offer greater energy efficiency, better contrast ratios, and response times. According to ASUS, the display will feature 576 zones of dynamic dimming control for automatic contrast adjustment which provides deeper blacks. The ASUS ProArt PA27UCX also carries a VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification along with true 10-BPC Color (1.07 billion colors).
Connectivity is provided by a DisplayPort v1.4 along with a single USB-C port. Power draw is only 60W making it extremely power efficient.
At this point we don’t have any pricing information about the new display, however we have reports of a 32″ version being released later during Q3 this year, likely under the model name ProArt PA32UCX. More information can be found over at ASUS’s product page.
