Game Title: Escape from Tarkov
Release Date: TBD (Initial Beta in 2017)
Platforms: PC
Genre: FPS (Survival / Looter Shooter)
Developer: Battlestate Games
Publisher: Battlestate Games
This is the final entry for Escape from Tarkov, we promise. We have reserved this spot for the ASh-12, another integrally suppressed rifle. This one is a bullpup rifle chambered in 12.7×55 – this caliber’s parent case is the deadly long range .338 Lapua Magnum round, but the characteristics of 12.7×55 most closely resemble .50 Beowulf. Most variants of 12.7×55 are subsonic, hence the integrated suppressor on guns chambered for it, but there are supersonic loads too. So not only is the gun cool and unique for its caliber and its purpose, as a compact rifle chambered in a huge but slow round, but the customization for this gun is also tremendous, mostly revolving around picatinny rail attachments. Here is a breakdown.

Game Title: Turok 2: Seeds of Evil
Release Date: 1998, 2017 (remaster)
Platforms: PC / Nintendo 64
Genre: FPS
Developer: Iguana Entertainment, Nightdive Studios (remaster)
Publisher: Acclaim Entertainment, Nightdive Studios (remaster)
The Charge Dart Rifle in Turok 2: Seeds of Evil fires electrified darts that electrify your opponents. Electrified opponents are incapacitated, immobile, and helpless. The longer you hold the fire button before firing the rifle, the more powerful the electric charge fired. The power level of the electric charge changes the projectile’s color, making for an awesome visual effect.
A fully charged shot from the Charge Dart Rifle is enough to kill most enemies in the game, after electrifying them for a rather long time. The player can also take advantage of an enemy in an electrified state, due to their complete helplessness; as shown in the video above using a few different methods.

Game Title: Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
Release Date: 2016
Platforms: PC / Linux / PlayStation 4 / XBOX One
Genre: FPS / Stealth
Developer: Eidos Montreal

The TESLA is the only nonlethal weapon on this list. It fires multiple homing projectiles which incapacitate opponents. Not much else to say, it is very fun to use in combination with the excellent stealth gameplay of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.

Game Title: Arma 3 – RHSUSAF mod
Release Date: 2013 (Game), 2017 (Mod)
Platforms: PC
Genre: Shooter / Mil-Sim
Developer: Bohemia Interactive (Game), Red Hammer Studios (Mod)
Publisher: Bohemia Interactive (Game)
The Milkor M32 MGL is the world’s finest grenade launcher, clearly outclassing all others in the world today. A simulator such as Arma 3 is the best game to showcase such a weapon, although it does not by default. It is the RHSUSAF mod that makes this dream gun a reality within Arma 3.
It is a revolver grenade launcher with a six round capacity, rail system, and it features a reflex sight by default. It can fire all sorts of grenades; this mod and game lets you use various kinds of smoke and flare rounds, concussion grenades, and various types of HE grenades including armor piercing ones. Unfortunately it does not have a UAV round yet, but the diversity of this grenade launcher is phenomenal hence its appearance on our list.

This video demonstrates the same gun but in Arma 3, simply ported over with no changes to it.
Game Title: Arma 2: Private Military Company
Release Date: 2010
Platforms: PC
Genre: Shooter / Mil-Sim
Developer: Bohemia Interactive
Publisher: 505 Games / Meridian 4
The world’s finest shotgun. The Atchisson AA-12 is a fully automatic, near recoilless shotgun that accepts both 8 round box magazines and 20 round drum magazines. It is one of the most overpowered guns in reality, for combat it is just unfair compared to any other shotgun, and Arma 2: Private Military Company demonstrates this best. You can choose between 12 gauge buckshot, 12 gauge slug, and 12 gauge HE rounds by default, as shown in the video above.
It is even more incredible in reality, having top tier reliability as well. Here is a great overview of it.

Game Title: Fallout: New Vegas
Release Date: 2010
Platforms: PC / PlayStation 3 / XBOX 360
Genre: RPG
Developer: Obsidian Entertainment
Publisher: Bethesda Softworks
Archimedes II is a solar powered weapon system in Fallout: New Vegas. When paired with the laser designator, Eucilid’s C-Finder, it can be focused onto a small radius upon which a devastating blast of reflected solar energy rains down from the sky.
The downside? By default it can only be used once for every 24 in-game hours. It is easy to use the console to spawn more ammunition however, which I do in the video posted above to thoroughly demonstrate its abilities.

Game Title: Shadow Warrior 2
Release Date: 2016
Platforms: PC / PlayStation 4 / XBOX One
Genre: FPS
Developer: Flying Wild Hog
Publisher: Devolver Digital
The Raven from Shadow Warrior 2 is the highest ranked minigun on our list. Why? Because it has excellent visual and sound effects, actually sounding somewhat like a real minigun with that insanely high rate of fire plus tremendous impact effects plus the barrels actually heat up, it tears enemies apart with gory recklessness, and it benefits from Shadow Warrior 2’s endlessly diverse weapon upgrade systems. You can upgrade it to deal elemental damage, shoot toxic bullets, shoot two bullets at once, increase the rate of fire further, and much more. Also, as shown in the video above, you can even install an upgrade that lets you deploy it as a turret!

The SBC Cannon is a portable cannon from the Serious Sam franchise. It is comically huge, and the projectiles (cannonballs of course) even more so. Shots can be charged to increase range, velocity, and thus damage, as well as adding a fiery effect when charged enough.
The SBC Cannon literally tears through any and all normal enemies, leaving only blood and gore in its path.

This video best showcases the weapon starting at 1:30.
Game Title: Unreal series
Release Date: 1998-2007
Platforms: PC / Linux / Mac / PlayStation 3 / PlayStation 2 / XBOX 360 / Dreamcast
Genre: FPS
Developer: Epic Games
Publisher: GT Interactive / Atari / Midway Games
The Link Gun is yet another unique weapon from the Unreal franchise. Like nearly every weapon in the series, it has two fire modes: the primary mode fires green plasma beams, which in the highlight of the series, Unreal Tournament 2004, has very pleasing particle effects as each beam is its own dynamic light source.
The secondary fire mode is a continuous beam of plasma which has to be kept on the target to do damage. The Link Gun, as the name implies, is best used by having multiple players fire the secondary fire at a single target, linking them together, multiplying the damage. The result is a very quick yet brutal death for the opponent, as they are vaporized extremely quickly.

Game Title: Unreal series

The Bio Rifle or GES Bio Rifle is brilliant, but it takes a lot of skill to use. This is the theme for Unreal series guns; strong learning curve, 2-4 functionalities, absolutely devastating in the right hands, and brilliant creativity. This weapon is a pro-recycling statement, using Tarydium waste as its ammunition source.
Primary fire shoots fully automatic rounded gooey projectiles in a sharp arc, so for close range you’ll need to aim down a bit, and for mid range you’ll have to aim high. It has no long range capability. Direct hits deal some damage but the cool thing about this gun is that you don’t need direct hits, as stepping on the goo deals damage as well. Secondary fire is a charged, single, much more powerful and larger shot. A fully charged blast taken directly will instantly kill anyone without all the powerups in the world in Unreal Tournament games, and it’ll kill many of the enemies in one hit in Unreal.
The most common way to use this gun, due to its relatively slow projectile speed, is to trap players in a minefield of slime essentially. Make it so everywhere they go, they step on the crap that this gun shoots out and leaves all over the floor, walls, and ceilings. One wrong step and they get slimed, and when this happens the mini slimey explosion has a very cool particle effect in all of the games. And, like many Unreal guns, it’s possible to kill yourself with it by accident.
The model and sound for this gun changed throughout the franchise. Personally my favorite rendition of it is in Unreal.
