ASUS has recently released images and specs surrounding its new ultra-wide XG49VQ gaming monitor under the ROG STRIX lineup. The monitor offers a truly immersive gaming experience at a whopping 49 inches wide with an aspect ratio of 32:9. As this will be a ROG product, you can bet this monitor is designed with Gaming in mind. Modern features such as Adaptive-Sync (Radeon FreeSync 2) and HDR technology are integrated into the display. The curved screen offers a smooth visuals backed by a 144Hz refresh rate.
The panel’s resolution is 3840 x 1080 @ 144hz. With such a high pixel count, you’ll likely need some decent GPU horsepower on the PC side, especially if you are coming from a traditional 1080p monitor. Information surrounding the new monitor was found posted by ASUS as a recent press release.
ROG Strix XG49VQ is a 49-inch 1800R curved HDR gaming monitor featuring Double Full HD (3840 x 1080) resolution, a 32:9 aspect ratio and a 144Hz refresh rate for super-smooth gaming visuals. With high dynamic range (HDR) capability and 125% sRGB color gamut coverage, XG49VQ delivers lifelike contrast and color with bright whites and dark blacks, which meet VESA DisplayHDR400 certification. Adaptive-Sync (Radeon FreeSync 2 HDR) technology provides a greater dynamic refresh rate range, low latency and better brightness and contrast for smooth, breathtaking visuals when gaming or watching videos. ASUS Shadow Boost technology brightens and enhances details in dark areas without overexposing bright areas for balanced images that appear true to life. XG49VQ also includes DisplayWidget, an intuitive software utility to let users tweak settings or display properties with ASUS Shadow Boost, GameVisual, App Sync™, and blue light filter settings to provide the best image quality for specific scenarios such as gaming, watching movies or content creation.
