Corsair has just announced the release of two new high end PC cases the Crystal Series 680X RGB and the Carbide Series 678C. The new new cases are designed for system builders that require all the latest features especially when it comes to airflow and/or cooling options for liquid cooled systems. Both cases will be released in either black or white allowing it to fit with any build color scheme.
Both cases feature tempered glass paneling connected to a solid steel frame. While each are classified as a mid-tower case, you shouldn’t have any issue fitting any of your high end system components into the case, including custom liquid cooling setups.
CORSAIR Crystal Series 680X RGB
The Crystal Series 680X RGB case is equipped with pretty much everything you need when it comes to cooling options as well as impressive visuals. Cooling is provided by four included Corsair SP120 fan at the rear and three Corsair LL120 RGB fans at the front. RGB lighting functions are provided by Corsair’s Lighting Node PRO which works with CORSAIR iCUE software.
When it comes to cooling effectiveness, the new case features a dual-chamber layout which isolates the hard drives and power supply from the rest of the system. The side effect of this is that your system not only runs a bit cooler, it makes cable routing much easier giving the system internal a much cleaner look. Liquid cooling support is also featured. The 680X RGB case provides room for up to eight 120mm fans and four simultaneous radiators (up to 360mm in front, up to 280mm in the roof and floor, and up to 140mm in the rear), providing a huge range of options for custom cooling systems. The case also features a vertical graphics card mount allowing it to be seen in all its glory through the crystal-clear tempered glass panel. CORSAIR Carbide Series 678C
The Carbide Series 678C visually is quite the opposite of the 860X. The case features an overall stealthy look which is defined by its clean lines and smooth steel construction. Cooling is provided by three CORSAIR SP140 PWM fans which are controlled by a PWM repeater capable of controlling up to six PWM fans total. Like Carbide Series case also features a tempered glass side panel which ads to the overall quality feel of the case.
Liquid cooling is also fully supported with support for dual 360mm radiators. The case features support for up to nine 120mm fans total. If storage is a requirement, you’re in luck as the 678C supports up to 1x 5.25in drive, 6x 3.5in and 3x 2.5in drives, and the ability to add a further 2x 3.5in drives with even more trays.
