Creative has just released a brand new gaming DAC (Digital to Analog Converter) designed to work for PC as well as The Sony PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One. The Creative Sound BlasterX G6 is designed to greatly improve audio quality by acting as an external sound card for whatever platform you choose to use. The release of the G6 comes as a direct replacement of the old Sound Blaster G5 but designed to deliver even more performance over its predecessor.
The specifications of the Sound BlasterX G6 will satisfy the needs of pretty much any gamer. It serves as a 32-bit 384kHz DAC with an ultra-high dynamic range of 130dB. The DAC also features an oversampled multi-bit modulator with mismatch shaping technology that eliminates distortion, ensuring that audio is streamed with the highest level of detail and fidelity. The Sound BlasterX G6 also supports hi-res PCM and DoP audio formats. The DAC also has an ultra low 1Ohm impedance on the output which will work to 600 ohm headphones.
The Creative Sound BlasterX G6 also features Dolby Digital Decoding 7.1 virutal surround sound, speaker volume controls and Scout Mode found on the G5. Also featured is Xamp Discrete Headphone Amplification. This, considered the “Crown Jewl” of the G6 is the custom-designed Xamp discrete headphone amplifier. Typically gaming DAC amplifiers use a single amplification method. Creatives new method amplifies both audio channels individually which will allow the user to hear audio detail much more clearly. Xamp will drive any gaming headset excellently, but it goes even further than that. The ultra-low 1Ω output impedance perfectly drives performance-grade sensitive 8Ω in-ear monitors all the way to studio-grade 600Ω headphones.
Currently the Creative Sound BlasterX G6 DAC can be purchased from major outlets that carry Creative products for #149.99 USD
