CD Projekt Red writer Stanislaw Swiecicki just confirmed via an Italian gaming website Mulitplayer that the new Cyberpunk 2077 game will support a full day and night cycle, dynamic weather as well as flying cars (of course). Realism was a huge focus for the team, especially the environment. Making the game as real as possible was an absolute requirement. The “night city” will be an intergral part of the game design according to Swiecicki.
“We wanted to make you feel like an integral part of the city right from the first moment, and as in all the cities, day and night, we wanted to show players how we were able to recreate a dark and dystopian future, even in daylight. ” When we asked him whether or not rain will be present in Cyberpunk 2077 , Sviecicki replied: “Of course, there will be variable weather conditions.”
Another interesting feature is the ability for players to change V’s name. However, this feature has not officially been decided and is variable to change and is still up for debate.
Transportation will be another matter. Cars and motorcycles will be the primary means of transportation, but we’ve recently learned that flying vehicles will also be another aspect of the game. However according the Swiecicki, ““It will happen that you can find yourself inside of them but, as far as driving them, it’s not possible at the moment.”
Cyberpunk 2077 is still a very long way from its release, so while all features at this point are viable to change, each update paints a clearer picture as to what we can expect from the game. One thing is for sure, CD Projeckt Red definitely appears to be putting a lot of thought into the design and story.
