That 7950 was almost the card I went with when I built the original back in 06. I was like "OOOOhhh shiny dual GPU" and drooling. Friends were like "No you stunned fool raw power go 8800 GTX".
Glad I listened for a change.
Could we get an update with the 5970, 480, 470, and 465? I fixed the formatting from the old forums.
The 5970, GTX 480 and GTX 470 were there already along with the 5870, 5850 and 5830. Updated with GTX 465, 5770, 5750, 5670 and GT 240.
Well, added AMD's new lineup. They aren't very special, some are worse than existing NVIDIA cards that are already a generation old. Not good... I hope the R9 290X ends up being something special though.
Epic bump was epic. Still. some good info here. Read up kids!
Jester has updated it again! Take a look..
Updated with GTX 980 and 970 which are just unbelievable. God-tier... no point in buying any other ~$300 or ~$500 GPU when these come out.
Gonna look into this......
Wow the GTX 970 and 980 caused HUGE price drops for both NVIDIA and AMD.
Everyone's trying to pawn off their old hardware for upgrades. The cycle of GPU life.
Honestly ? I thought I would have had to upgrade by now but my 3 GB/580's still hold good framerate on every game on max settings. Unless something come's out that I really want to play for 200+ hrs. by then that kick's their ass, I'm not even sure if I'll upgrade next year.

It's called planned obsolescence.

It depends on what is considered 'good' to each person. I'm sure you still get 60 FPS in most games at 1080p, but 1080p is becoming obsolete for enthusiasts. Soon you'll likely want a 1440p monitor, or even 4k if you wait another year or so when they start coming out with 4k IPS or PLS panels. At that point, it would be necessary to upgrade. GTX 980 is THE best and most economical choice to make right now.
Updated with some of the new 300 series cards (refreshes) from AMD and removed obsolete, irrelevant cards. Added Fury X as well.
