This thread consists of the listings of today's video cards from best performing to worst performing. If you want to upgrade or want to know where your current GPU stands in the performance line, look here.
Right now it's interesting to see NVIDIA in possession of a rather large efficiency edge, with their cards producing much less heat and using much less power, hence why almost all AMD cards come with aftermarket coolers.
Listing based on accumulation of various reviews in various games, particularly at 2560 x 1440 and above.
NOTE: If you use an AMD card, get this tool if you want to tweak image quality more. If you use NVIDIA, get this tool for similar purposes. These let you force anti-aliasing, anisotropic filtering, modify v-sync, and much more. NVIDIA has far more options for tweaking, which is a benefit for hardcore PC gamers who aren't afraid to customize their settings. NVIDIA cards offer different types of supersampling that work with most games (whereas AMD's supersampling compatibility is very, very limited), NVIDIA also offers adaptive V-Sync, better ambient occlusion compatibility, and more through driver tweaking with the aforementioned tool.
Green = NVIDIA
RED = AMD
If there's no price listed, that means the accompanying video card is outdated and possibly discontinued, and you probably shouldn't buy one unless it's a great deal.
