Yeah I started with nVidia too and with an Intel CPU. I still use products of these brands. Maybe my problem was that I had an ATI GPU and an Intel processor. Nevertheless if you insist on buying an ATI GPU, BS1, I'd suggest the newest from 5000+ series of ATI. The 4980 is a cool choise too. I don't know anything about prices though
