DVD Drive Fail
Soo, here's the problem. Whenever I put a disk into the drive, it decides's it's a blank disk of xMB size (X being the size of the stuff that's already onto the disk). I double click it and it tells me to prepare the blank disk.
Only way for me to fix this is by inserting the disk into the draw, closing it then opening device manager and disabling the drive then re-enabling it. Then it will only let me explore the files on the disk and won't do the autorun thing that happens when you double click on the icon.
Is this a new you just ordered? Send it back.
Sorry, forgot to say.
It's the one built into my laptop.
Have you tried (re)installing the drivers?
Or just remove the drivers, and let windows take his own drivers.
Might have dust on the lens. Take some canned air and unleash it into the open slot. Had that happen to me once with the same symptoms you are describing.
