Nice review! Very detailed. I didn't know that Vertex 4 used the Indilinx Everest controller. I expected a bit more speed, but either way it's hard to complain about those numbers.
Well it's new so don't expect the latest and greatest with the first release.It makes sense that OCZ would want to run its own controllers though if you think about it. End result will be lower costs all around.
Yeah, their Octane SSDs had the best prices by far when they debuted. And this controller seems to be a good one too. Newer firmware releases should hopefully improve performance.
Did some more research and it lookes like the Indilinx is based off the Marvell controller which was custom written for OCZ devices. Marvell has a solid reputation so no doubt the Everest will be a good controller for the long haul.
