Who can pay for these anyway? Really sick, but high priced.

The point is that the 980X will be cheaper to buy and i will be able to get one. 🙂

Don't you already have an i7? 😐
Enad, some i7 processors are better than others.
:square:
wow thanks i didnt know [email protected]!!!w111
Well, nothing can't be solved by overclocking! :p
Really, what is the 980 at 3.1? 3.3? How hard is it to get any of the other i7s on that level.
I really would never see a point in upgrading the same socket unless your CPU is really that bad.
the 980 is unlocked you you can get some way high and stable overclocks with it.
why do you overclock your cpu's? 😐

Better performance.
@ Enad - the 980x and 990x have six cores and twelve threads, rather than the typical four cores and eight threads of an i7 processor. The i7 970 is another six core CPU with twelve threads, but has a locked multiplier at 24x and isn't affordable by any means. Hell it isn't much cheaper than the 980x and the 990x will be the same. I doubt the 980x will drop much in price anyway.
Oh. 6 cores is cool, Not really needed, but yeah I was gonna say I doubt prices would drop THAT much that it would be worth a purchase.

Not really needed for you.
Well Darken1 uses his GPU for folding so I don't see what else he could do with a CPU like that. 😕

better performance how ? you use an i5 instead of an i7, why ? i've seen your rig, you could afford the difference in price as the i7 950 can be had for about $225. approx.
if someone has an i7....930-950, x58 mobo, gt 560 gfx card, extra ram, and liquid cooling, etc., they couldn't run Black Ops at max graphics setting w/o problems ?
i'm not being a wise-guy but i'm at that point where i'm about to spend a lot of money by my standards and i'm just curious is all.
