A well known program but for those who don't know, Autohotkey lets you bind macro scripts to any key on your keyboard. No need to spend more on keyboards for macros or, say, the ability to disable the Windows key, as Autohotkey is free and lets you do all of that and more.

Simply write or use someone else's script, and have it start with Windows. The only downside is for people who game at LAN tournaments and require a keyboard with onboard memory to store macros, there is no substitute for that.

Here is an utmost simple script for effectively disabling the Windows keys:

~LWin Up:: return
~RWin Up:: return

~LWin Up:: return
~RWin Up:: return
